An avid motorcyclist, Ken Aiken's first professional venture as a travel writer/photographer was a book on the roads of Vermont. In 1998 he was asked to write for Thunder Press and from this point on his career as a writer/photographer flourished.
His black & white photos illustrate the books Venice Revealed by Paolo Barbaro (Steerforth Italia, 2002) and Motorcycle Journeys Through New England by Marty Berke (Whitehorse Press, 2004). In 2001 he won the prestigious John T. Amber literary award for his historical article “Birth of the Modern Firearm” published by Gun Digest.
His feature articles and photographs have appeared in such diverse journals as Italian Food, Wine & Travel, Rock & Gem, The Accurate Rifle, Fine Tool Journal, and Journeys.
